Trent Gills AKA Galapagoose is a Melbourne based artist, who makes those funky fresh beats that we at LYFSTYL love oh so much.

His debut full-length “Commitments” has just been released and it is phenomenal. The overall soundscape of the lp is littered with tons of glitchy hip hop inspired beats and vocal samples. I hate using the term glitchy because some people automatically think that means its hard to listen to. However this is not the case with “Commitments” each track has a organic sound which gives the listener a sort of ethereal feel. 

I recommend listening to the album in order because it really takes you on a 40 min trip. The album starts out with a lot of energy shooting you off into space and about half way thru the album your spaceship seems to level out. The second half literally feels like you are floating. Listen to “Rhizome” and you will literally loose your shit. I plugged my headphones in, rocked back on my couch and when those drums kicked in, my face melted off. I opened my eyes saying WOW out loud then started it all over again trying to recreate that experience.

Trent made this album really accessible for all listeners, whether you are new to the genre or you are seasoned listener you will fall in love.
