On February 7, 1974 arguably the greatest hip-hop producer of all time was born in the city of Detroit. His name was James Dewitt Yancey or as he was better known as J Dilla. Unfortunately J Dilla died far to early. Three days after his birthday on February 10, 2006 at the age of 32 from the rare blood disease Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura.

Although, J Dilla was only here with us for a short period of time, his contribution to the wonderful world of music will never be forgotten. JD inspired an entire generation of beatmakers from all around the world and will forever live on in our hearts through his music.

“I wanted to name this EP ‘Circles’. Because if you look at a circle, its pretty much a loop (like how all beats are). In a way it also represents the cycle of life too. Sound wise it will serve as an Ode to J Dilla’s ‘Donuts’ album”.
