Howl, UK: Gabrielle Aplin- ‘Please Don’t Say You Love Me’ (Cyril Hahn remix)
Twenty year old Gabrielle Aplin hails from Sutton Benger, Wiltshire, UK. As is becoming increasingly common she made a name for herself online by covering tracks on Youtube. Before Christmas she released “Please Don’t Say You Love Me”. Swiss born Cyril who is now based in Canada picked up the track and transformed it into a bassy ethereal banger.
Soundblob, IRE: Come On Live Long- Little Ones
Come On Live Long are a Dublin based group largely hailing from the west of Ireland. They combine aspects of electronic and pop music with folk elements. This track is centred on the contrast betweenthe hushed, sugarcoated vocals of Louise Ní Ghamhna and the raw and unrestrained vocal of Rob Ardiff. This is played out over the beautiful minimalist instrumentation curated by the production skill of Come On Live Long themselves and Nouveaunoise’s Conor Gaffney.
Over Muziek, NL: Pien Feith- Oh Radical Me
“Dutch singer/producer Pien Feith surprised us in 2011 with her extremely pleasant debut ’Dance On Time’ – a record filled with colourful, gloomy electropop. Ever since releasing that album she has been touring non-stop all around The Netherlands, so you can imagine that it was about time to hear something new from this lady. Luckily the waiting is almost over; in March she is releasing her second album ‘Though Love’, which promises to be even more dazzling than her debut. The first cut of the album is called ‘Oh Radical Me’ and is a smooth, addictive tune that shows us the more edgy side of Pien Feith.”
LYFSTYL, CA: ChromadaData – A TalkBox Joint
This single handily has to be one of the most stunning songs I have come across in recent days. Kansas City producer ChromadaData created a absolute masterpiece with this soulful talkbox track. ChromadaData sings into his talkbox while utilizing an infectious mellow loop that will no doubt get you in the mood – for what ever your into. Instead of me telling you how amazing this song is simply press play and see for yourself what I am talking about. Enjoy the vibes.
All I Do Is Listen, AU: Rites Wild- Detatched Living
“Rites Wild has made a massive impact on me as of late, it’s the solo project of South Australian born multi-instrumentalist Stacey Wilson. Her drawn out, verging on drone pieces are full of dark and dreamy noise. Her latest release, ‘Ways Of Being’ has undoubtedly garnered Wilson a fair slice of attention, after you listen to it, you’ll realise why.”
